Tour Itinerary
The below itinerary is based on the Challenger version of our tour, taking in more sites and sounds of Suffolk.
Our carefully planned tours are run on public roads, so we might need to make changes or arrange detours to avoid an escaped flock of sheep!
The OnVenture team is always happy to accommodate requests to visit specific locations and landmarks along the specified route – just let us know.
Friday
Check-in at the hotel from 15:00 and meet your OnVenture hosts before enjoying the rest of the afternoon to explore.

Saturday
Breakfast (cooked or continental) will be served at 7:45am and we will be setting off on our ride at 8:45am. Setting off from Wroxham we follow the natural meander of the River Bure, passing through some of the most picturesque Broadland villages and hubs of the Norfolk Broads, including Horning, Ludham and Potter Heigham. We then pick-up the country lanes heading north towards the coast, passing through some of the finest agricultural land in the country, before hitting the north sea at Happisburgh, with its prominent lighthouse standing tall over the village and still shining bright to this day!
As we hug the coastal road we pass the famous birthing grounds of The Atlantic Grey seal colony at Horsey, before arriving at our lunch stop in Winterton-on-sea at the halfway point of our day, with 35 miles covered.
After lunch we continue along the coast road, passing through the popular seaside resort of Hemsby before heading inland, travelling past Ormseby Broad and then picking-up the River Bure again, but for our return journey we are cruising through the towns and villages on the southern edges of the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve.
On the final push we navigate the fringes of Norwich, the county town of Norfolk and then briefly head north to the second most famous Buxton and the finally head for our days final destination & where the day started, Wroxham and a well earned coffee by the river!.
Sunday
Breakfast (cooked or continental) will be served at 8:15am and we will be setting off on our ride at 9:15am. Once again departing from Wroxham, we follow a familiar friend in the meandering River Bure, all the way up to the Market town of Aylsham when we part company. After cruising around the permitter of Blickling Hall estate, we head due north through prime agricultural country before heading west in pursuit of the salty sea air at Blakeney and a likely headwind as the sea breeze whips off the North Sea.
We circumnavigate the beautiful coastal village of Blakeney with its stunning flint cottages, thriving quayside and postcard worthy marshes, creeks and sand banks as you gaze out to sea. We pick-up the coastal road and have short sprint to Weybourne where stop for a well-earned lunch break.
After Lunch strap yourselves in for 38km of beautiful riding following the Norfolk coastline and taking in the popular fishing towns of Sheringham & Cromer, we may even get ourselves a quick pitstop to sample one of Norfolk’s most famous exports, the Cromer Crab. Hugging the coastline, we continue south passing through stunning coastal villages and I’m sure on a warm day the lure of the sea will be overwhelming, so we might take a quick paddle.
We head West on the final leg of the weekends riding, passing through the market town of Stalham at the head of Barton Broad before finally reaching our finish line for the weekend back at Wroxham.
